| Bodily Injury: The amount paid for injuries caused
by you. Usually a per person, per accident amount. Higher limits are
recommended to protect assets. Your policy may say something like
100/300. This would be $100,000 per person $300,000 per occurrence.
They will pay up to $100,000 for one injury but no more than $300,000
if three or more people are injured. |
| |

| Medical: This is the amount the company will pay
toward medical expense for you and passengers in your car at the time
of the accident. Usually the policy would read $5,000 per person.
There is not a maximum for the occurrence. (Occurrence is each accident) |
| |
| Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist: This is a coverage
to you and your passengers should you be hit by an uninsured motorist.
It will pay up to the limit stated in your policy. Something like
the bodily injury limit above. Underinsured motorist is when the other
party has insurance but their limit is less than yours. Your policy
will pay the difference between the two amounts. You do not have to
be in your car for this coverage to apply. You can be jogging, or
in another vehicle and collect under your uninsured/underinsured motorist
coverage. |
| |

other than collision. This could be a stolen car, vandalism or storm
damage. It will be subject to a deductible you select. |

you hit or be hit by another object. This could be anything from hitting
another car, truck or stationary object. The repair is subject to
your deductible. |
| |
| Uninsured Motorist Property Damage: Should you
have an older car and not feel that it is worth insuring for collision
but want to have some protection against the uninsured driver should
they cause an accident this is the coverage you want. It is subject
to a $250 deductible and will pay up to an amount mentioned in your
policy. |
| |
| Towing: This is an amount paid by your insurance
should you have trouble and need to have your vehicle towed in for
repair. The amount is listed on your policy. Collision coverage pays
for towing after an accident, this is a separate coverage. |
| |
| Rental Reimbursement: This pays for a rental car
should you have a collision loss. Your policy indicates the amount
that will be paid per day and the number of days. Should you have
a car stolen that coverage is included under your comprehensive. |
